Meet the Family

code of conduct disguised as a sitcom

Disguised as a sitcom, Jumbo’s code of conduct hits the mark. With recognisable examples that all take place in one setting: the canteen.

Everyone knows Jumbo! And, as a company, that can work to your advantage or disadvantage. Because how do you keep the standards and values the same at all the different supermarket locations, and in different departments? By going back to the roots, because Jumbo is a family business. With this in mind, the ‘Meet the Family’ concept was born. Inspired by shows like Friends and Superstore, in which all actors have their own role and character.

From checkout assistant to shop manager

Meet the Family’ is a basic training course on “Code Geel, Jumbo’s code of conduct. The training must connect with both checkout assistants in the shop and managers from Head Office, as well as employees in the HUBs. The challenge for us is to make all roles visible and recognisable in the training.

In this module, you are introduced to several colleagues. You watch as they experience all kinds of things in the canteen. Everything takes place around the table and occasionally the video stops to make you, the participant, wonder: ‘Is this actually appropriate?’

The video was produced together with video production studio VanSelfie. This is what VanSelfie said about our collaboration:

”A soap opera e-learning. That’s next level! Very cool how learn industry manages to take an e-learning to the next level!”

Jumbo itself proudly shared the new module on Linkedin:

At Jumbo we are more than just colleagues, we are one big family. And you can see that in this training, which is a good fit for Jumbo!
